UNITY was never just about fitness. It was about people. I started UNITY because I wanted to build the kind of space I couldn’t find anywhere else – a space where training feels like coming home. Where you walk through the door and you’re greeted by name. Where effort is celebrated over ego. Where every rep, every class, every small win is part of something bigger. I wanted to bring people together and work with the local community. UNITY is a gym, yes. But it’s also community, connection, confidence. It’s about showing up for yourself and for the person next to you. This is why I created UNITY. And every time someone walks in, tries something new, lifts someone else up I’m reminded why it was worth it.

Liam Smith
I’m an OG CrossFitter who has a passion for coaching, helping people and a true Nerd within the world of CrossFit.
Ryan Birch
From a young age I’ve had a passion for sport and competition, it’s what drives me. That same drive is what fuels my commitment to coaching. My goal is simple: to help people become the strongest, fittest and most confident version of themselves, both physically and mentally. Whether you’re just starting out or chasing new personal bests, I’m here to push you, support you and celebrate every win along the way.
Cassie Duffy
After a 10 year love for training and fitness, I wanted to deepen my knowledge and become a CrossFit Coach. Since coaching, it has been an amazing experience helping people on their journey, whether that’s joining their first class or mastering skills they never thought possible, I’ve truly loved being a part of it. In addition to coaching, the space where I train is welcoming, accommodating and genuinely a place for people to thrive.

Mark McGee
Football has been my passion from a young age, but groin problems forced an early retirement. I then discovered a love for running, which eventually led me to HYROX and CrossFit. I coach with the principles of hard work and proper technique and I consider myself a good motivator with a friendly face. UNITY is part of my DNA now and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Abigail Bailey
Your body hears everything your mind says’ resonates deeply with me as it has proven true throughout my life in both positive and negative ways. I have always been fascinated by the incredible power of the mind – body connection and I can’t help but geek out about it. It brings me pure joy to see individuals achieve what they once thought was impossible and take steps toward a healthier and happier lifestyle.

Dan Tipney
I just love all things endurance and ‘engine-building’! As a former member of the GB rowing team with over 20 years of coaching experience, I lead the UnityRow classes, helping members build confidence, improve technique, and develop conditioning on the indoor rower. I enjoy creating training plans that support specific fitness goals and aim to make performance training accessible to everyone. I love being part of the UNITY community – always learning, moving, and celebrating together.
Kelly Chambers
I live in Embsay and I’m a Level 2 qualified gym instructor, training to be a personal trainer. I’m passionate about helping people discover their potential, improve their mental resilience, and build their physical strength, whilst having fun, in a supportive and motivating environment.
Lara Jessop
I’m a mum of two who’s hooked on CrossFit, bodybuilding and chasing challenges. Whether I’m hitting a heavy lift, hiking new trails or adventuring with my kids, I love pushing limits and living life in motion.
Advanced Equipment
Our facility is equipped with kit from Wolverson. You’ll find a 10 bay rig, barbells, bumper plates and lifting platforms. We have Concept2 Ski Ergs, Row Ergs and Bike Ergs along with a number of Rogue Echo Bikes. We have an extensive selection of Dumbbells and Kettlebells, Wall Balls and foam covered Plyo Boxes. In our machine room, we have available for use a 45⁰ leg press, a hack squat, lat pull down machine, leg curl and extension and a cable machine, along with a curved non motorised treadmill.
Premium Amenities
UNITY boasts a spacious, open-layout facility designed to maximize your training experience, featuring a dedicated Olympic lifting area and a 15m turf section for sled pushes. We have a large 10 bay rig and a huge class space, with an additional machine room. We have onsite changing facilities and showers.
